Rice Barges / Houseboats, Backwaters (M – T)
Kettuvallams or rice barges converted to houseboats are a
unique feature of the Kerala Backwaters. The boats move
slowly along the waterways (covering approximately 20km per
day) allowing plenty of time to absorb the backwater
atmosphere. Your boat is always exclusive to you (ie the
only other people on board will be your crew) and we are
able to offer a wide choice of boats - standard, deluxe and
air-conditioned deluxe boats offering accommodation for two,
four or six guests. There is also a deluxe air-conditioned
honeymoon boat offering couples a spacious bedroom with
bathroom attached and private upper deck. A perfect choice
if you are on your honeymoon or celebrating a special

will be plenty of opportunities to disembark and visit
