Orange County is a delightful resort set in the midst of a
coffee plantation and surrounded by forests. The original
part of the resort offers accommodation in Tudor style
cottages and in this area are the main restaurant and
swimming pool. They also have two styles of villa – the
extremely spacious Presidential Villas and Lake Facing
Private Pool Villas where there is another swimming pool and
restaurant. This resort is committed to operating within the
fundamental principals of Responsible Tourism. They have a
policy with a wide range of initiatives to help the local

Orange County, Kabini (T)
This lovely resort is surrounded on three sides by the
Kabini River and was built in authentic Kuruba village style
(the Kadukuruba are the tribe that live in the Nagarhole
forest) using local materials. The deluxe accommodation
comes in two styles – a mud walled, thatched roof huts with
a Jacuzzi pools or huts with private plunge pools. Jeep
safaris are offered into Nagarhole National Park. Other
activities include boat safaris on the river, bamboo rafting
and cycling through the local villages. This resort strives
to be a Responsible Tourism destination and initiatives
include obtaining energy from their own wind power
generator, state of the art sewage treatment plant, reverse
osmosis plants in each hut to provide safe drinking water
without need of plastics and ozonised swimming pool. . |

Kabini River Lodge, Nagarhole (M)
Kabini offers accommodation in colonial style bungalows,
cottages, and tents overlooking the river. All (including
the tents) have en suite bathrooms. Activities include jeep
safaris, elephant rides and boat trips on the river. |

Kings Sanctuary, Nr Nagarhole (M)
A new hotel with easy access to Nagarhole (just 100m from
the gate) and offering visits into the park twice a day.
There are naturalists on site, bicycles to speed up your
journey from the restaurant back to your room and camp fires
are lit each evening with music and dance offered in the
high season. Accommodation is attractive and spacious (a
sitting room plus bedroom and bathroom). |

Simple accommodation in semi-detached rooms – each named
after one of the animals that may be found in the National
Park. Included in the cost of staying here is a jeep safari
in the afternoon and a guided walk in the morning. |

Cicada Resort, Nagarhole (M)
This wildlife resort is located on the banks of the
magnificent Kabini River, close to Nagarhole and Bandipur
Wildlife reserves. Accommodation is in recently built
individual villas or twin rooms with enough creature
comforts to make you feel at home but not spoil the jungle
experience. All the accommodation offers a panoramic view of
the river. The informal outdoor gazebo-style restaurant
offers vegetarian and non vegetarian food and provides
guests the opportunity to share experiences. Private jeep
safaris need to be booked in advance but while you are there
you can decide what other activities you wish to participate
in – options include boat safaris and kayaking on the river. |
